    On this issue of dogs and pets on Boulder OSMP, John supports Boulder's current policies which includes training and licensing for off-leash pets,and offers an extensive network of "voice and sight" control trails as well as trail options for those who wish to be away from pets.

    Boulder is a very special place and I will help keep it that way.  I support height limits and careful planning and site review.  The community benefit of every proposal must be considered.  We have a serious problem with an imbalance of housing and employment and we need to shift the balance more towards housing - affordable if possible.

    I support Boulder's efforts to reduce carbon emissions and achieve the 2030 carbon goals.  I am a strong supporter of pursuing municipalization, and in agreement with the proposal to extend and raise the muni-dedicated portion of the UOT by a reasonable amount (such as the presently proposed $650,000). This should enable the City to reach the point where a fully informed decision can be made - either to move ahead with municipalization, or to consider other options if it is clear that municipalization cannot succeed.

    Boulder is an expensive place to live and that is not going to change.  My approach to affordability is City intervention to preserve existing affordable housing.  This requires revision of development fees and increased incentives to support more affordable housing.
